The Best Air Fryer Boneless Pork Chops {Barbecue Flavor}

Ingredients

  • 2 slices boneless pork chops ½-¾ thick slices, recommended
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup BBQ Sauce store-bought

Instructions

  • Get your boneless pork chops ready. Cut them to your desired thickness, then pat them dry with a paper towel. If frozen, thaw them overnight, and if you have the time, bring them to room temperature before cooking.

  • Prepare the dry rub. In a small bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until blended.

  • Prepare the barbecue sauce and have a basting brush ready.

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (204°C). Please see note if your air fryer is 4 quarts or smaller.

  • Season the pork loin chops with the spice mixture. Rub it in until the spices are evenly distributed all over the meat.

  • Air fry boneless pork chops for 14-16 minutes. Baste them with barbecue sauce at the 5-minute mark, and after 2 minutes, flip and baste the other side. Cook for another 7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness. Ideally, you should achieve a nice golden brown finish. Please refer to the note section for information on doneness and recommended cooking times.

  • Let your BBQ-glazed pork chops rest for 5-10 minutes to achieve a juicy and tender result.

Notes

  • For 4-quart air fryers and smaller, reduce the cooking temperature to 380°F (193°C). They generate more heat because of the heating element's proximity to the food.
  • If your air fryer doesn't have a preheating option, set your desired temperature and then let it cook for 4-5 minutes without food.
  • To reduce the gaminess of your boneless, skinless pork chops, you can marinate it in buttermilk or any acidic marinade.
  • According to USDA guidelines, pork chops should reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) or higher. However, personal preference should be considered when cooking. I prefer my pork chops to be medium well or well done.
  • Medium: 145°F (63°C), Medium Well: 150°F (66°C), Well Done: 160°F (71°C).
  • Recommended Cooking Times: ½-inch, 10-12 minutes; ¾ to 1-inch thick, 12-16 minutes; 1½-inch thick, 16-20 minutes. The thicker your meat, the more you have to flip it.
  • Juicy & Tender Meat: Use the right cut, cook them to your desired internal temperature, and allow the pork chops to rest for at least 5 minutes.
  • I used a 6-quart Instant Pot Vortex Plus to test this boneless pork chops air fryer recipe. Cooking time and temperature may vary depending on your air fryer, the thickness of your meat and the number of servings you are making. For optimal results, begin with the lower end of the suggested cooking time.
