4Portobello mushrooms
1tablespooncanola oilor olive oil
½teaspoonsalt
½teaspoongarlic powder
¼teaspoondried rosemary
¼teaspoondried thyme
⅛teaspoonblack pepper
Instructions
Prepare the Portobello mushrooms by using a slightly damp cloth or kitchen towel to wipe away any visible dirt. Then, gently remove the stem by applying pressure to it. If desired, you can also remove the gills from the mushroom cap.
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (204°C). If your air fryer has a capacity of 4 quarts or smaller, please see the note for more info.
In a small bowl, combine all the seasonings: oil, garlic powder, rosemary, thyme, and black pepper. Mix them together well. Then, have a pastry brush ready.
Air fry the Portobello mushrooms for 5-6 minutes. Start by placing them in the air fryer with the cap side down, then brush them with the basting sauce and cook for 3 minutes. Flip the mushrooms, baste the other side, and continue cooking for another 3 minutes. Roast the mushrooms until golden and tender.
Let your air fryer Portobello mushrooms rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes
For smaller air fryers (4-quart and below), reduce the cooking temperature to 380°F (193°C). They generate more heat because of the heating element's proximity to the food.
If your air fryer doesn't have a preheating option, you can set the temperature to 400°F (204°C) and then let it cook for 4-5 minutes without food. For faster cooking time and accuracy, preheating is highly recommended.
Avoid washing the mushrooms with water, as mushrooms tend to absorb moisture.
The gills of the mushrooms create a dark stain when cooked. If you wish, you can remove them by scraping them with a spoon.
I used a 6-quart Instant Pot Vortex Plus to test the Air Fryer Portobello Mushroom Recipe. Cooking time and temperature may vary depending on your air fryer and the number of servings you are making. For optimal results, begin with the lower end of the suggested cooking time.
