Ingredients
12frozen tart shells3-inch size
3large eggs
¼cupmilk
2tablespoonsspring onions
¼cupcooked hamdiced
¼cupcheddar cheeseshredded
½teaspoonsalt
⅛teaspoonground black pepper
Instructions
Preheat the air fryer at 360°F (182°C). Please see note if your air fryer is 4 quarts or smaller.
Prepare the fillings: Dice the ham, chop the green onions, and have the shredded cheese ready.
Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and ground pepper. For easy pouring, consider using a measuring cup with a lid.
Air fry frozen pastry shells for 3-5 minutes, no need to thaw. This step will help prevent the egg tarts from being undercooked.
Add the fillings: Once the crust is half-cooked, add the ham, cheese, and green onion. Then pour the egg mixture into each pastry shell.
Air fry the mini quiche for 6-8 minutes, or until the egg filling has puffed up and the edges of the crusts are browned. To make sure the eggs are fully cooked, do the toothpick test.
Serve and enjoy! Allow the mini quiche tarts to rest for 3-5 minutes before serving. They make a delightful appetizer, brunch or breakfast, and are perfect for picnics, dinner parties, and more.
Notes
For 4-quart air fryers and smaller, reduce the cooking temperature to 340°F (171°C). They generate more heat because of the heating element's proximity to the food.
If your air fryer doesn't have a preheating option, set your desired temperature then let it cook for 4-5 minutes without food.
Only use precooked meat for the filling. At 6-8 minutes of cooking time, we're primarily ensuring that the eggs are cooked, so there wouldn't be enough time to cook raw meat.
I used a 6-quart Instant Pot Vortex Plus to test the mini quiche air fryer recipe. Cooking time and temperature may vary depending on your air fryer and the number of servings you are making. For optimal results, begin with the lower end of the suggested cooking time.
