Homemade Chicken Patties in Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 3 tbsp fresh dill finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 eggs lightly beaten
  • 1/3 cup mayo
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese grated (optional)
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 3 cloves garlic crushed

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients: chicken, eggs, mayo, breadcrumbs, dill, salt, pepper, mozzarella, parmesan, oil, onion powder, garlic, and lemon juice. Mix everything well until it forms a uniform mixture.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 380ºF (193ºC) for about 5 minutes.
  • Portion the mixture into 6 - 8 equal-sized balls. Then, flatten each ball to form a patty shape.
  • Place the chicken patties in the air fryer, leaving space between them.
  • Air fry the homemade chicken patties at 380ºF (193ºC) for 12 - 15 minutes. Flip halfway.
  • Insert a meat thermometer in the thickest part of the chicken patty. It's cooked once it reaches an internal temperature of 165ºF (74ºC). Remove them from the air fryer and let them rest for a couple minutes.
  • Serve and enjoy your air fried homemade chicken patties on a bun with your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, and a dollop of the sauce of your choice.

Notes

  • Remember that cooking durations may differ depending on the patty’s thickness and your air fryer’s size and model. Before serving, ensure it has been cooked to a safe internal temperature of 165ºF (74ºC).
  • If your air fryer doesn't have a preheating option, you can set the temperature to 380°F (193°C) and then let it cook for 4-5 minutes without food. 
  • You can skip preheating by adding 2-4 minutes to your cooking time. Increment gradually to prevent burning the homemade chicken patties.
  • I used a 6-quart (air fryer) to test the chicken patty. Cooking time and temperature may vary depending on your air fryer and the number of servings you are making. For optimal results, begin with the lower end of the suggested cooking time.
