How to Cook Keto Pork Chops in an Air Fryer?
Step 1: Preheat your air fryer to 400ºF (204ºC).
If your air fryer doesn’t have a preheating option, set your desired temperature then let it cook for 5 minutes without food.
🚨 Important: Reduce the cooking temperature to 380°F (193°C) if you’re using a 4-quart air fryer or smaller. They are hotter due to the heating element being closer to the food.
Step 2: Prepare the ingredients.
First, make the keto-friendly dry rub by mixing paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried rosemary, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
Next, pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel. This step helps ensure a beautifully crispy exterior during cooking.
Then, drizzle olive oil on your bone-in pork chops. Use your hands to massage and distribute the oil.
Finally, generously sprinkle the dry rub mixture on the pork chops. Gently press using your hand to help the seasoning adhere to the pork.
In this step, you can prep the sauce ingredients, such as slicing mushrooms, mincing garlic, and chopping thyme.
Step 3: Air fry the keto pork chops for 12 – 16 minutes at 400ºF (204ºC).
Place your seasoned pork chops in the air fryer, ensuring they don’t overlap. Cook the chops at 400ºF (204ºC) for 12 – 16 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
Ensure an internal temperature of 145ºF (63ºC) for perfectly cooked chops. Use a meat thermometer for the most accurate (and best) results.
Step 4: Make Creamy Mushroom Sauce (Optional)
- Place a skillet on the stove over medium heat and melt the butter.
- Sauté the finely minced garlic and the sliced mushrooms in the skillet for about 5 minutes or until the mushrooms soften.
- Then, pour in the heavy cream, allowing it to envelop the mushrooms and garlic in its rich embrace.
- Gradually add the grated parmesan cheese. Stir diligently to ensure the cheese melds seamlessly with the cream, creating a velvety texture that will indulge your taste buds.
- Lower the heat to simmer for 2 – 3 minutes.
- Sprinkle in salt and pepper to taste, giving the sauce its distinct flavor profile. Remember that a pinch of salt goes a long way, so add gradually and taste as you go.
That’s your sauce!
Step 5: Serve and enjoy!
Serve your air-fried keto pork chops on a plate. Generously ladle the creamy mushroom sauce on top. And finally, sprinkle finely chopped fresh thyme for an extra layer of flavor.
Your keto air fryer pork chops are ready to steal the show!
Enjoy!

Ingredients
- 2 bone-in pork chops about 1 inch thick
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
For Dry Rub:
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Creamy Mushroom Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 150 g mushrooms sliced
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup parmesan cheese grated
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme finely chopped
Instructions
- Whisk the dry rub ingredients in a small bowl to create your aromatic dry rub seasoning.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400ºF (204ºC) for about 5 minutes. This high heat will help achieve a deliciously seared exterior.
- Season the pork chops. Rub each bone-in pork chop with olive oil, then coat both sides with the prepared dry rub. Gently press the seasoning onto the chops for even coverage.
- Air fry the keto pork chops. Place the seasoned bone-in pork chops in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook them for 12 – 16 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145ºF (63ºC). Flip the chops halfway through.
- Remove the pork from the air fryer and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Serve your air-fried keto pork chops! Once cooked, plate the bone-in pork chops. Spoon the creamy mushroom sauce generously over them, then sprinkle finely chopped fresh thyme for added freshness and flavor. Enjoy!
Prepare the creamy mushroom sauce:
- Place a skillet over medium heat. Then, melt the butter in the skillet and sauté the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms until tender, around 5 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream and add the grated parmesan cheese. Stir well to combine, and let the sauce simmer for 2 – 3 minutes until it thickens.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Notes
- Considering that cooking time varies depending on the meat’s thickness (and your air fryer’s specs), always check with a meat thermometer if your pork is cooked thoroughly. The pork’s safe internal temperature is a minimum of 145ºF (63ºC).
- If your air fryer doesn’t have a preheating option, you can set the temperature to 380°F (193°C) and then let it cook for 4-5 minutes without food.
- You can skip preheating by adding 2-4 minutes to your cooking time. Increment gradually to prevent burning the keto pork chops.
- I used a 6-quart (air fryer) to test the keto pork chops. Cooking time and temperature may vary depending on your air fryer and the number of servings you are making. For optimal results, begin with the lower end of the suggested cooking time.
