French bread pizza is already a work of art: you’ve got crispy, crunchy bread, gooey cheese, tangy sauce- all in a super easy-to-eat package!
We love pizza in ALL the forms, but air fryer French bread pizza is definitely in the top 5 best pizza types.
The crust of the bread really adds a crunchy texture unique from some of the other pizzas we love, like tortilla pizza or bagel bite pizzas.
While you can really use any type of loaf of bread, we love French bread, and the ratio of soft tender bread to crisp outer crust.
It’s also great that French bread pizza gets cut into long, thin slices, so it’s easy to share with friends, family, or no one at all! 😉
The air fryer makes this recipe even better. It perfectly browns the cheese and toppings, while cooking the pizza so quickly that the crust doesn’t dry out at all!
Get your favorite toppings together and head into the kitchen for this family-friendly pizza party!

There are soooo many options for toppings on French bread pizza. Like regular pizza, you can basically use anything you want as a topping and it’ll be delicious!

How to Cook French Bread Pizza in the Air Fryer?
French bread pizza in the air fryer couldn’t be easier or QUICKER! In just about 10 minutes, you’ll have a French bread pizza that’s perfect for a shareable snack, lunch or dinner!
Step 1: Preheat your air fryer to 400ºF (204ºC).
If your air fryer doesn’t have a preheating option, you can set the temperature to 400ºF (204ºC) and then let it cook for 5 minutes without food.
You can also skip this step by adding 1-2 minutes or until you achieve your desired browning and crispiness.
Step 2: Slice the French bread in half and flatten it.
Carefully use a serrated knife to cut the loaf in half lengthwise and then crosswise, creating 4 pieces. Take one of those pieces and press gently to flatten it.
Note: You can easily make all 4 pieces of the loaf into French bread pizza, you may just have to make it in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
If not, wrap the leftover bread in plastic wrap and then foil and freeze for up to 6 months.
Alternatively, you can also use a baguette instead of this loaf-style French bread. With a more slender bread, you can definitely fit more slices.
Step 3: Prepare the pizza toppings.
Prepare the pizza toppings!
Have the pizza sauce, pepperoni, mozzarella and secondary cheese (if using) ready.
Step 4: Assemble the French bread pizza.
Prepare each French bread pizza by first spreading the cut-side of the bread with sauce, then adding both cheeses and pepperoni slices.
Step 5: Air fry French bread pizza for 4-6 minutes.
When the air fryer is preheated, add the French bread pizza (or pizzas if your air fryer can fit more than one) and air fry until crisp and golden, about 4-6 minutes.
✦ I used a 6-quart air fryer to test this recipe. Cooking time and temperature may vary depending on your air fryer and the number of servings you are making. For optimal results, begin with the lower end of the suggested cooking time.
Step 6: Serve and enjoy your air fried French bread pizza
When the cheese is bubbling and brown and the pepperoni is crisp, carefully transfer the pizza to a cutting board and let it cool for 1-2 minutes before slicing and serving.
Don’t forget those favorite pizza condiments, like crushed red pepper flakes, dried oregano and grated cheese! They turn an already really good pizza into an irresistible pizza!
